Increase in Application Fees Payable to Immigration for Residence Procedures (Visa Applications)

According to recent reports, the Japanese government is reviewing a plan to significantly raise the fees for application procedures such as change of status of residence and permanent residency for foreign residents, with implementation expected sometime during the 2026 fiscal year.
